The Photographer

Having grown-up in the central United States and also living in various other areas around the country, it was a move numerous years ago to the natural beauty of the American West that helped rekindle a long time passion for nature, and a desire to capture it through the lens. After studying photography during college while shooting with fully manual 35mm SLR's, it was the emergence of digital photography that seemed to be a natural blend of my creative and technical sides. Whether it was while backpacking in the Tetons, observing the red rock beauty of Arches, or resting on a hike in the Wasatch Mountains and making 'eye contact' with a bull moose, I've always felt the passion to see if I might be able to capture with a lens the sights I've been fortunate enough to see with my own eyes while in these places. I hope while viewing my work that you find even just one image that conveys to you the natural world in a special and unique way.

The Name 'Teton Trail'

People have often asked about the name 'Teton Trail', and I thought I would try to explain my thoughts on choosing the namesake of both this site and how I hope to convey my photography. For many the word 'teton' may bring to mind a very special place, and one that is a personal favorite of mine for it's unique attributes. With my photography, it is my hope that I can capture images that are unique and special in their own particular way. It is also my hope that I can continually capture such images, and that the journey, or trail, is a never-ending path. Therefore, I hope that my photography exhibits a special journey, or a 'teton trail' that others will enjoy traveling again and again... I hope you are able to return often and see what's new on the trail.
